Jeff Landry, Chad Ortte and Hammy Davis founded Scout Real Estate Co., a full-service commercial real estate, brokerage, management and consulting firm based on honesty, integrity and a rock-solid work ethic. Scout is less worried about the number of signs we put in the ground and more committed to working on projects that have a significant impact for our clients and our community. We are experienced and we have a deep network that comes from years of hard work in the commercial real estate markets across South Louisiana. Jeff Landry is the Managing Broker and Partner at Scout Real Estate Co. Jeff was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana attending St. Thomas More High School and continued his undergraduate education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. After graduating from LSU in 2004 with a focus in Business Administration, Communications and Sociology, Jeff began his real estate career at Stirling Properties and focused on commercial sales and leasing overseeing 1,000,000 sf of retail space in the southern Louisiana market.
After 5 great years at Stirling Properties, Jeff joined the team at MPW Properties in 2009 as the Director of Asset Management and has been with MPW ever since. While Jeff continues his work with MPW, he has now ventured into the Brokerage business with Scout creating a strategic alliance between two great companies. In 2010 Jeff received his CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation and has served on the Acadiana board of Realtors as an active member in the local real estate community. Jeff also holds his Louisiana Broker's license and has continued to work on acquisitions and developments throughout Louisiana and Alabama.
Jeff is an active outdoorsman and has enjoyed the best of what Louisiana has to offer in both hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He and his wife Caroline are the proud parents of three children, Hollis, Abram and James.
Born and raised along the bayous and sugarcane fields of South Louisiana, Chad grew up designing and building things, and was taught at an early age the value of hard work and persistence. He graduated from Saint Thomas More Catholic High School and then from Louisiana State University in 2005 with a degree in General Studies. He began working in commercial real estate in college and after graduation became a licensed agent and a top producing and development partner within 3 years.
In 2010 he became an independent broker, leading strategic investments, complex acquisitions and developments while representing some of the most active and capable real estate investors and developers in Louisiana. Known as a trusted source of knowledge and opportunity, with an uncanny ability to connect with anyone at any level, Chad maintains close and effective relationships with diverse groups of people.
He leads with an honest work ethic and a creative value-add approach to every transaction, project, or partnership, with the ultimate goal of building long term, successful projects and relationships. His interests are cooking, hunting, fishing, architecture, design, and exploring. He is passionate about connecting people and creating places that inspire happy living. Chad lives in Lafayette and has a German Shepherd named Jolie.
R. Hamilton "Hammy" Davis has had twenty-two years of extensive experience in the commercial real estate business in Lafayette. He was named number one commercial agent for the state of Louisiana for Coldwell Banker Commercial for the years 2000 - 2016.
Prior to his affiliation with Coldwell Banker, Hammy was an attorney in Lafayette for nine years, and was principally involved in all areas of civil litigation including business litigation.
Hammy's civic involvement includes: Lafayette Education Foundation Board, Lafayette Downtown Unlimited Board, St. Pius Elementary School Board and Our Lady of Wisdom Parish Council, Chairman of the Board of United Way Board (board member for nine years), Acadiana Catholic Services and Rayne State Bank Board of Directors.
In the development field, he has done build-to-suits for Smith International (now Schlumberger) and Superior Energy, and has been involved in the re-development of office, industrial and retail sites ranging from a 15,000 square foot retail strip center to a 120,000 square foot office building.
Tim Skinner is a Commercial Real Estate Agent with Scout Real Estate Co. and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. He has a degree in Finance from ULL and before becoming a commercial realtor he worked as a commercial banker in the Lafayette and Baton Rouge markets for many years. “Commercial banking has taught me the financial underwriting and risk management skills that help me guide clients into making sound real estate decisions”. Once licensed as a real estate agent, Tim immersed himself into all aspects of the industry. He currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Realtors Commercial Alliance, Board of Directors & Candidate Guidance for the Louisiana Chapter CCIM, Board of Managers LACDB, LLC, and Board Member of the Louisiana Realtors. He previously served as a Board Member of the Realtor’s Association of Acadiana and Commissioner of the Lafayette Regional Airport. He is longtime member of the Rotary Club of Lafayette, a licensed commercial pilot, outdoorsman and yoga practitioner.

Diana Stephens Farris, a native of Baton Rouge, has been practicing commercial real estate since 2004. She has worked in various cities throughout the state, but her favorite market is Lafayette, where she attended ULL and fell in love with the city, people and culture. Diana specializes in land acquisitions and office development, having sold over 500,000 square feet of new office construction, prior to its completion.
Her 14-year employment with a local developer/contractor taught her the intimate details of turn-key development and construction. The majority of her office experience has been in the medical field, so she recognizes the complexity of each client's specific needs, no matter how unique.
She's been on all sides of the deal - buyer, seller and agent for both - so she understands how to get a deal done successfully and fairly. Her close relationships with land owners, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, lenders, and governmental entities, allow her to provide first-hand knowledge and data on these processes, while easily obtaining new information and proposals for her clients. She also enjoys retail and restaurant leasing/selling/development.
Mr. Gregory joins Scout Real Estate Co. as their Chief Financial Officer. Born in New Iberia and raised in Lafayette, Mr. Gregory is a graduate of Lafayette high School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Gregory's career began with nine years in grocery retail before transitioning to the oil field and spending over 20 years as Chief Financial Officer of Francis Drilling Fluids, Ltd. (FDF). While at FDF, Mr. Gregory was instrumental in taking the company from family owned to a public company then to a private equity owned company. Mr. Gregory retired in 2015 and started his own accounting and tax practice to serve smaller to mid-sized companies with their accounting and tax needs. He and his wife Kim also own and operate Baldman's Southern Pit BBQ which specializes in craft made BBQ sauce and rub, as well as Magnolia Blossom, a sewing and embroidery business.
Jude has been involved in many church and school activities including service as a 6-year member of the St. Genevieve Church parish council, served as president of St. Genevieve Usher's Association for five years, and spent 5 years as Chairman of the St. Genevieve School Advisory Board. Jude is also an Eagle Scout and has served the Evangeline Area Council as an Executive Committee Member and Pack Leader.
In his spare time, you can find Jude on the golf course or working on their farm in North Lafayette. He enjoys cooking, woodworking, UL football, UL and Teurlings High School basketball, and spending time with his wife Kim and their son Dominic and their two dogs, Sienna and Zeus.
Coming from a family of New Orleans real estate investors, Sal Crifasi was initially exposed to the realm of real estate at an early age. By working with his father in managing the family's diversified mix of commercial and residential investments, and working on construction sites during his high school and college years, Sal built a solid foundation for his career in commercial real estate management and development.
In 2016, he graduated with high honors from the University of Louisiana with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing & Professional Sales. During his time at the University, Sal competed in a National Collegiate Sales Competition in New Jersey and placed first runner-up amongst more than 80 students from across the USA. He also completed a comprehensive Strategic Analysis Internship at the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA). Upon graduation, Sal embarked on his real estate career by shadowing a top commercial agent in the Lafayette market and quickly embraced the world of commercial real estate. His first major project (thesummitlafayette.com) was to assist with the acquisition, leasing, and management of a 120,000 square foot office building located on the central commercial corridor of Lafayette, Louisiana.
Sal can offer guidance and oversight for office building acquisitions, Landlord/Tenant lease negotiations, and property management services for his clients. Sal is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Realtors Commercial Alliance (RCA), and currently pursuing a CCIM designation.
Eric Schexnayder is a commercial sales and leasing agent with Scout Real Estate Co. He was born and raised in Lafayette and he proudly calls the northside of town home! After graduating from Teurlings Catholic High & UL Lafayette with a degree in Business Marketing, Eric began his business career as owner/operator of Schexnayder Supply LLC, specializing in sales and consulting services for oilfield related machine shops throughout South Louisiana. In 2019, Eric began his new career path in commercial real estate. Eric loves a good laugh with friends and spending time with his wife, Alyson and their daughter, Frances.
Alison Deshotels is a commercial sales and leasing agent with Scout Real Estate Co. Alison embarked on this career path in 2019 and is honored to learn from the industry leaders that founded and work at Scout Real Estate Co. She is a graduate of Colorado Mesa State University with a degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Sociology. She utilizes this foundation in both her personal and professional life. It is especially valuable in helping her understand and meet her clients' business needs.
Alison is a native Houstonian that has chosen to call Lafayette home since 2010. After living with her husband Jacques, an Abbeville native, in both Houston, TX and Grand Junction, CO. they decided Lafayette, LA was the perfect place to raise their son Cole. Alison has been an active member in the community since she and her family moved here. Her and her family enjoy attending numerous community events, especially DTA! and Festival International. Alison is a member of the Acadiana Center of the Arts and she and her family frequent the ACA often. In her spare time, you can find Alison reading, crafting, dining out, and visiting with family, friends, and neighbors.
